Pages: 231 Pages
Length of Study: 6 Weeks
Kids will love discovering this huge continent as they try out a variety of learning experiences. Kids will explore Switzerland, the Netherlands, France, and Germany, and their traditions through cultural activities like making a Swiss Skibok, eating French Hors’ D’oeuvres, creating an Edelweiss hat, or playing a German game like “Katz und Maus.” They’ll learn about Germany fairy tales, try out Bavarian pretzels, or dip into a French fondue. But the highlight of this study are the Cultural Gatherings! Kids will love planning for several gatherings such as a Swiss Sechselaeuten or a German Oktoberfest, and try out German blitzkuchen or French haute cuisine!
All along the way, students will complete an open and go travel diary. The diary includes more content about Western Europe, drawings and interactive fun, cut-outs, native costume designs, and so much more that will help the learning really stick! It’s a great journey, and packed with family fun!
This study includes most of the reading you need for the study, an activity resource, a profile on an African child, a guide for planning the Cultural Gathering, the Travel Diary pages, and more! It is planned around a four-day week, to make it super easy to fit into a busy family’s schedule.
